The unprecedented "Take Off With ALA" discount program has been created to diminish the financial impact of rising travel costs on individuals interested in participating in LabAutomation2009 and learning about the science of laboratory automation. This new mission-centric program provides up to $200 off airfare for the first 500 airline tickets purchased by full-conference paid registrants for the LabAutomation2009 conference and exhibition. The discount applies to any airline available through ALA's official LabAutomation2009 Travel Desk.

This program is supported by the Palm Springs Desert Resort Communities Convention & Visitors Authority (PSDRCCVA) and: Velocity11, an Agilent Technologies Company; Caliper Life Sciences; PerkinElmer; Symyx Technologies Inc.; and Thermo Scientific.

Full-conference, paid registrants in the following categories are eligible for this discount, based on first-come, first-served airline ticket purchases:

NOTE: This promotion is for the first 500 airline tickets purchased through the LabAutomation2009 Travel Desk. Be sure to book your tickets early in order to take advantage of this discount. Discounts are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

The following list of individuals are not eligible to participate in the Take Off With ALA discount program: ALA Board of Directors, current and former officers, the LabAutomation2009 Scientific Committee, LabAutomation2009 Session Chairs, students, exhibitors, one-day passes, complimentary registrations, contractors, employees, family members, and/or other participants/volunteers receiving any sort of pre-approved assistance, and/or those considered to be "insiders."

Airline Ticket Booking

The airline discount will apply to all air carriers available to be booked through the LabAutomation2009 Travel Desk. The airline discount is taken immediately at time of booking. Checks will not be issued to the individual. All reservations MUST be booked through the official LabAutomation2009 travel agent, Travel Technology Group (TTG).

Tickets may be purchased by telephone only, via TTG. Registrants must wait at least one business day after registering for LabAutomation2009 prior to calling TTG to book the discounted flight. Airfares cannot be guaranteed until ticketed.

Call the LabAutomation2009 Travel Desk between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (CST), Monday through Friday to book your flight. Please have your credit card and arrival/departure information ready.

This offer is not valid for airline tickets purchased prior to registration and cannot be prorated or transferred. There is no cash value this discount. Discount is up to $200. If ticket price is less than $200, the value will be the actual cost of the ticket. The Take Off With ALA discount program may only be applied to one airline ticket to attend LabAutomation2009. The discount is not available for change or transfer fees.

American Airlines is the official carrier for LabAutomation2009. Applicable American Airlines discounts will be taken first, and then the balance, up to $200, will be paid by the "Take Off With ALA" discount program.

Applicable service fees may be assessed for airline tickets issued by the LabAutomation2009 Travel Desk.

Cancellations

If a ticket has been purchased and the individual cancels registration on or before December 26, 2008, the cancellation is subject to a $200 cancellation fee. If the ticket had not been purchased, the registration would only be subject to the $50 administrative fee. After December 26, 2008, registrations are non-refundable. All registration cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Airline ticket cancellations must be made either directly with the Airline, or through the LabAutomation2009 Travel Desk. Standard airline cancellation policies apply.

General:

ALA reserves the right to discontinue this program at its discretion. In the event of cancellation, termination or suspension, a notice will be posted. ALA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual if his or her fraud or misconduct affects the integrity of this program. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROGRAM IS DISQUALIFIED. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, ALA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Under no circumstances shall ALA or its directors, officers, employees, agents or sponsor partners be liable for any direct or indirect losses or damages arising out of or in connection with this program. You hereby waive any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action of any kind you may have directly or indirectly against ALA or its directors, officers, employees, agents and other representatives resulting from, arising out of, or in any way related to your access to, use of, or participation in this program. Your participation in this program warrants that an agreement was entered into in the state of Illinois, and shall be governed by the substantive laws of the state of Illinois.
