| In addition to being an avid sports fan and world-traveler, Malcolm makes a business of developing automation software and solutions for the company he co-founded, Process Analysis & Automation, Ltd. (PAA). Some of his best work is the United Kingdom's Forensic Science Service project, recognized as the world's largest DNA database of felons and offenders, for which he wrote OVERLORD, the-well known laboratory automation software package. Malcolm has a Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Southampton, and is a frequent lecturer at the University of Surrey (UK) and Trinity College Dublin. He is also an active ALA member and frequent LabAutomation exhibitor who has made it his goal during his tenure on the ALA Board to help build the bridge between ALA and his stomping grounds, the petrochemical, forensics and pharmaceutical industries.
